Welcome to Light Print, NYC's Online Pro Color Lab!
Who we are and Who we do it for
Light Print, formerly known as CMYK Proof, founded by Kevin Kornemann, is an online professional color proofing and fine art photo printing service in New York City catering to brand managers, packaging designers, artists and illustrators, and professional photographers across the United States and UK.
How and Why we do it
Born out of color obsession, we believe that color proofing and professional printing is a combination of science and art. We think that a tangible, printed version of your creative work is what people should see and experience. This is why we blend cutting-edge technology with time-honored printing techniques. With more than 20 years of experience in color proofing and fine art printing, we share our expertise to achieve the highest accuracy and quality, and encourage a transparent and collaborative environment with our clients to turn any photograph and digital art into a work of art with the highest standard that will speak for them.

Meet the Team
As a boutique retouching studio located in downtown New York City, we have always had an obsession with color. Color is an art and a science, and when you're retouching for print publications like Vanity Fair, GQ, and Vogue, you had better make sure your color is accurate! We encourage a collaborative environment here at Light Print; we give information freely and are sensitive to our clients' individual needs.

Kevin's interest in photography and imaging started in high school when he began interning in the black and white darkroom at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. He went on to graduate from RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Science in 1996 and was ready to start his career. He moved to NYC and arrived, suitcase in hand, at Duggal's digital imaging department for his first day as a professional. Bigger and better things awaited however, and he landed a job at the hot web studio Razorfish, where he hacked up HTML and graphics. His next move was to Jill Greenberg Studio to set up her in-house digital imaging department, and then to Shoot Digital to sharpen his retouching teeth. Finally in 2001, Kevin set up his own retouching studio, now Proof Imaging. Kevin enjoys spending time with his daughter Sofia and his lovely wife Athena.

Joshua, originally from Petaluma, California, began his photographic journey at 13 when his father gifted him a 35mm camera. At 16, he interned with portrait photographer Murray Rockowitz, working in the darkroom making contact sheets and prints. He later studied photography at Santa Rosa Junior College before moving to NYC in 2019 to work at Lux Lab, where he specialized in chromogenic photographic prints for museums and galleries. He has since worked at The Color House NYC and helped run the photographic department for shows at Botanica Grove, a gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Throughout, he has continued his own photographic practice.
