Film Scanning, 35mm to 8x10

A digital enlarger for your film: high magnification captures stitched together, so every grain on the negative makes it into the file.

We scan film the way an enlarger prints it: up close. Our setup pairs a Fujifilm GFX 100 medium format sensor with a Rodenstock HR Digaron Macro 105mm f/5.6, designed for high magnification on medium format sensors. We capture each section near 1:1 and stitch them together. 35mm through 8x10, negatives and slides, color and black and white.

We can print your scans as silver gelatin, giclée, or C Prints.

Frequently Asked Questions

What film formats do you scan?

35mm through 8x10, negatives and slides, color and black and white.

How is this different from a drum scan?

We capture at high magnification and stitch, without the banding and grain aliasing older drum scanners can show.

Why stitch instead of one shot?

A single shot of medium or large format film loses detail. Stitching near 1:1 captures the full grain.

What files do I get?

Print ready TIFFs.

Is dust removal included?

Light dust cleanup is included. Heavier retouching is quoted separately.

How long does it take?

Usually 1 to 2 business days, often the same day.

How do you handle color negatives?

We convert them with ColorPerfect, which follows each film's own density curve for accurate color.

Can you print my scans?

Yes, as silver gelatin, giclée, or C Prints.
